Summer Social Skills Groups
Life Hacks: Because Adulting is Hard (17+)
Tuesday/Thursday/Friday 9:00am-3:00pm
This program focuses on skills and behaviors related to:
-Social, Vocational/employment, Community access/travel training, Health & wellness, Life skills, Financial literacy, Leisure skills, special interests and personal goals!
*Participants can register for one, two, or all three days*
Creation and Innovations (7-9 years old)
Wednesday 4:30pm-6:30pm
This group will focus on cooperative, imaginative play, expected and unexpected behavior and building friendships. 1:1 time will be built within the schedule to work on individual goals with a Second Nature staff. Participants will also work on hands-on creative projects, board game play and community safety.
Dungeons and Dragons
Thursday 3:30p-5:30pm (Post High School)
Saturday 2:00pm-4:00pm (High School)
Curious to learn more about what Dungeons and Dragons is all about? Join us for a beginner-friendly adventure where we go over the basics of game play and questions can be asked freely. No experience is required and all supplies will be provided by Second Nature staff or peer leaders. Participants may be asked to bring in an item from home for a future session.
*Participants of Dungeons and Dragons must be registered in another Second Nature program to particpate*
Growth Mindset
Saturday 9:30am-11:30am (Elementary & Early Middle School)
Saturday 12:00pm-2:00pm (Late Middle School & High School)
This group focuses on skill building around perspective taking, relationships, identifying strenghts, coping with challenges, building resiliency, communication, self determination, and self advocacy. It will also concentrate on the participants needs, what's important tot hem and working on barriers that may get in the way. Community outings will be built into each session, offering skill building in the natural environment.
