Social Skills Groups

Antisocial Social Club (Tuesdays 4:00pm-6:00pm * Dinner Club 6:00pm-7:00pm)
(Late High School and Young Adult)
This group offers older teens and young adults the opportunity to come together and connect with peers. Topics of group discussions may vary due to group interests and may include; self-determination, relationships, health and wellness, and more. Targeted skills include money management, problem solving, community safety, and more.
Creation and Innovations (Wednesdays 4:30pm-6:30pm)
(Early Elementary)
This group will focus on cooperative, imaginative play, expected and unexpected behavior, and building friendships. Within the second hour of the group participants will work hands-on creative projects, board game play, and safety within the community.
Teens Take the Town (Thursdays 5:00pm-7:00pm)
(Late Middle School & Early High School)
This group is for teens who are looking for a peer group and a place to practice learned skills. During the group time, lessons will be focused on nuanced social skills and scenarios that teens experience in school and with peers (e.g. "hidden rules", gray areas). Targeted skills include perspective taking, self advocacy, problem solving, and self regulation. Topics will vary based on group interests.
Life Hacks: Because Adulting is HARD (Fridays 9:00am-3:00pm)
(Post High School)
Program focused on skills and behaviors related to; social, employment, community, financial literacy, special interests and more.
Growth Mindset Group (Saturdays 9:00am-11am * 11:15am-1:15pm)
(Elementary & Middle School)
This group will focus on skill building around perspective taking, relationships, identifying strengths and coping through challenges, building resiliency, communication and more. It will also concentrate on the client's individual needs, what's important to them, and working on potential barriers. Members will also go into the community and work on awareness in the natural environment.
Get Up and Grow! (Saturdays 11:30am-2:30pm)
(Late Middle School & High School)
This is a new group for participants who have already completed a strategy and skill building program at Second Nature. This group will focus on embedding support and learning opportunities into the day's activities. Sessions are longer to accommodate traveling outside of the Plymouth area. Participants are responsible for the cost of travel and activities decided upon. Budgeting will also be incorporated.
